I'm so excited I can barely compile any code today. I just sit and stare at the beauty of it all.

looking forward to meeting fellow geeks. We're bringing our Flex app if anyone would like a look. It's aimed at the fitness market and has AI built-in to give dynamic training programmes, link to a Flex shopping cart etc. Critical evaluation & feedback would be most welcome. Worst critics have to buy us a coffee ...

Please read the message board or check your email for any updates on the location. Currently it looks like we will be holding it near Warren Street tube, but we are looking into a bigger venue at the moment.

Who Attended

The organizer estimated that 180 people attended.

  • Tero Pikala
"Could have started 7pm instead of 7:20... Adobe guys should have focused on Flex3/AIR more Good event anyway!"

  • Romain Eude
"way too noisy with the open bar in the background, a real disturbance"

  • Alistair
"Very lively and fun meetup. Also good information and interesting presenters."

  • John C.
"too much noise from the bar area, otherwise great."

  • Ignacio

"Just a small critic about having the presentations and the bar at the same place at the same time, it made it hard to understand the speakers."

  • Neil Middleton

"No bar while sessions are on, can't hear anything"

  • Steve Jalim
"Good speakers; nice to see so many people there; too much noise from the bar spoiled it - James put up with it well, but it was a shame that he couldn't be heard properly all the time; it didn't start on time and so I missed the end as had to leave to get a train. Did anyone get given that free copy of FB3 or CS3? "

  • Philip Bedi
"It was good but if you can handout some info related to speaker and what they suggest during meeting should be in that handout paper."

  • Mike Jones
"The bar should have been closed during the sessions as there were a lot of people talking while Serge and James were presenting."

  • Jean
"Great start! thought a good balance between James (overview, inspiring) & Serge (lots of details & more technical). In future, I reckon you can break up groups/sessions just like this. And won't repeat yet another "bar was too noisy" comment, but all true. Thanks for the beers though."

  • creacog
"great event - great speakers - somewhat spoilt by the continuous nattering of the folks in the bar area at the back - really they should have been told to shut-up or leave - since they were clearly not interested in listening to the presentations - having the mics up loud is not a compensation. I'm sure part of the purpose of the event was to promote mingling - but surely not during the presentations ??? Otherwise really good"

  • Dan Hamm
"Interesting content but either at very detailed or slightly glossy. A more systematic overview would have been appreciated."

  • George Cook

"thanks for putting it on. would've been much better if you have either: a bar and no presentation a presentation and no bar. "

  • Big Kev

"brilliant shame about the noise from the bar at the back!"

  • Nick Lansbury
"presentation sometimes drowned out by noise from the bar"

  • Tom Coxen
    "Excellent event, cheers."

  • MikeG
"Move the bar away from the stage, but not too far :-) else thanks."

  • Andrew Cleland
"Too many people standing at the back talking loudly whilst speakers were giving presentations. There should be no free drinks until after the speakers have finished. How many people only turned up because of the free beer?"

  • Michael Cleary
"A great presentation, really exciting stuff"

  • Graham Ford
"Serge's presentation was engaging and useful but James' was very dry."

  • Chris
"I may be biased as I'm more interested in the database interaction side of things but I thought the second talk was far more informative and useful. My only gripe about the evening was that it was difficult to hear the speakers with the noisy bar right behind us."

  • gusto
"entertaining, engaging, educational....I come from a design background and am new to Flex I found the code section talker, full on."

  • Alan Greasley
"Good mix of people - great to meet the Adobe guys and fellow Flex enthusiasts - good buzz."

  • Tommy
    "Great beer"

  • ed
"Presentations were good, but by the end the noise from the bar made listening to the speakers nigh on impossible."

  • Jameelur Rahmaan
"Late start which meant I had to leave before the end but otherwise interesting. Quite motivating too."

  • Jase
"Too much noise at the back. Couldn't hear much."

  • Conrad Winchester
"Too much marketing and not enough technical meat - However talking to Serge and Andrew at the end was informative."

  • Alexander
"The talks given by Serge, and James were for a daytime conference, I feel they would have got their ideas across much better if they had tailored their talks for an evening audience, involving more engaging ideas and visuals, something to inspire its listeners after a hard days work."
